Hidden photon dark matter interacting via axion-like particles

Abstract We investigate a scenario where the dark matter of Universe is made from very light hidden photons transforming under Z 2 -symmetry. In contrast to usual situation, kinetic mixing forbidden by symmetry and photon interacts with Standard Model only via an axion-like particle acting as “messenger”. Focusing on signatures involving ordinary photon, our survey phenomenology includes limits cosmological stability, CMB distortions, astrophysical energy loss, light-shining-through-walls experiments, helioscopes solar X-ray observations.
